It's a good movie itself, but compared to the older films, it's not that great. And I don't understand why it's called The Karate Kid when he learns Kung Fu. o.O

It's called that because it was supposed to represent the same ideals and basic story flow of the original. It was more about reinstating a good message and an inspiring tale then specifically learning karate. Also, as for the original, it was better, but the new one still matches up rather well IMO.
