this means either a) were a potential threat to their hive or b) they were not bees, they were a carnivorous relative such as wasps.

I accidentally disturbed their hive by opening a gate very close by to where they were. I had no idea they were there. I couldn't even hear the buzzing noise! I guess it was my fault, but seriously around 5 stings in the back, 2 in the head, and 3 in the arm! :S

haha ouch..mother nature is harsh, but i stand by what i said, they die when they sting you so its not like they do it out of pure spite. If it weren't for them 60% of the plant species on earth would not be able to reproduce.

Yeah, bees are real awesome, especially when you get stung by one at least once a year due to the fact that you're just so lucky to, but they get even better when they make you swell and itch where they stung you because of allergies. So obviously, yeah, I think bees are great :|
