+166 You may get obsessed with the feeling of being high but you do NOT get addicted to weed, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Aren't they the same thing? You don't get addicted to smoking, you get addicted to nicotine.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah but it is a lot easier to stop smoking weed than ciggs

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not for everyone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but there's nothing medically addicting to the human body about weed

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's exactly what the op was saying. With weed you get addicted to the feeling, and with nicotine you get addicted to the substance itself, and experience symptoms of withdrawl without it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

nah, obsessed and addicted are not the same. you don't have withdraws without weed. you just want it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

of course you can get addicted to weed, you just get addicted to the high. it's like getting addicted to gambing or what ever, there is no chemical making you keep doing it but you still can't stop

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you can stop smoking weed though way easier, because its not like your body starts freaking out when you do (sweating, itching, craziness) might be grouchy for a couple days-but if someone truly has a good reason/will to stop or cut down smoking pot they can and i've seen it done

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think that just craving. Like cake, texting, and Call of Duty. Nothing physical. It's more of a state of mind.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's possible to get physically addicted to weed, but you gotta smoke a LOT of it before you could ever get anywhere near having a real problem.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Addiction and obsession are very close.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It isn't physical addiction, it isn't even complete dependancy BUT the need to light up and feel the influence is a mental want and people do become dependant on feeling the high. I am finding it better to compare weed smokers to obese people lately, with the right help and motivation they can work off it and change but most want to sit around and keep up their intake as it feels good despite what it is doing to them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What exactly is IT doing to them?

You're an idiot. I absolutely hate everyone that says this. You DO get addicted.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Dumb Ass.): agreed!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So you don't get addicted... you just get addicted.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All I have to say is there's a reason why the kids who do weed all the time in my school are 'under-achievers'

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol.. "do" weed.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You can get addicted to ANYTHING. Coffee, showering, T.V., running, and even weed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

there is though. you wont have "physical" symptoms like the shakes or cold sweats, but you can definitely become psychologically dependent on it, so much so that you feel that you cant stop doing it. i was asserting the fact that for some (obviously not all) its easier to quit smoking cigarettes than to quit smoking weed.

Well in rehab there was a girl that was in there for marijuana only. Then again, I knew someone that went to rehab for addiction to facebook. Anything enjoyable taken to an extreme is addictive. I know people that have a bigger problem with Dr. Pepper.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

heres a solution, stop being a fucking pothead! your not cool k thnks bye

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You just generalized an entire person, their goals, dreams, thoughts, actions, life experiences, emotions, etc by calling them a "pothead." I smoke regularly and yet i'm a student, employee, son, brother, friend, and I guarantee I'm cooler than you, but not because I smoke. Im cooler than you because I don't make immediate judgements of a person based on one of their actions. Proceed to go fuck yourself. And for the love of God, its *you're. kthxbye

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Depends on who the person is, he/she could be a great scholar or they could be a high school drop out. In all fairness we (the people who don't smoke if there's anyone who will relate) should not judge a person based on stereotypes to weed, it's just how a person reacts on weed because... Every person is different.

You can get addicted to the feeling of being high and use it to escape from your problems. I know this kid who wakes and bakes every day and then smokes another five times throughout the day. He takes it too far. Everything is good in moderation.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Everyone is saying you don't get physical reactions like sweats, feeling weak etc.. Why the hell do I when I try to stop then?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Because they're just not educated on it very well. People can experience insomnia, nightmares, mood swings, headaches, sweats, loss of appetite, cramps or nausea after eating, body odor, coughing, weight change, sex drive/loss. A study showed that out of 496 adults trying to quit, 95% experienced one symptom, 43% more than one, and that the with drawl symptoms were more intense the more frequently the person smoked.
