+938 Facebook isn't as friend centered as it used to be. Now, instead of talking TO each other, more and more people just blurt out their lives and interests, hoping someone is listening. Maybe we are all just a bit too self centered, and it's hard not to be, amirite?

*It's hard not to be when you're this awesome

by Anonymous 12 years ago

or when people call you nerd because they're jealous of your pocket protector

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's hard not to be hard when you're this horny hello

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lately it's just been people saying facebook sucks going to twitter or stuff like that.

When has any of the internet been friend-centered?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ever since porn was invented to keep relationships together.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Me gusta potd. Gets people to argue. Me gusta.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

hmm Can't tell if referencing meme comics or excited first year Spanish student

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The meme.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Whats the difference?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

except this isn't a particularly controversial post

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"YES IT IS YA DUMB BITCH!" ...is what I'd say if I was Chauncy Pickles. And I am.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And I probably should have worded it "It gets people to talk", not argue.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yeah, that'd do it

by Anonymous 12 years ago

For me, Facebook is all about bragging. 'I've got TWO boyfriends!' 'Well I have a bigger house!' 'But I'm in 10 extra-curriculars!' 'I'm taking ALL honors classes.' 'I made varsity!' and really stupid pictures with even stupider captions in stupidly titled albums. 'We're fre$hmennn and we ain't takingggg a seatttt!'

by Anonymous 12 years ago

*In my newsfeed.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

and black and white "artistic" pictures EVVERRRYYYWHEEEREEE!!!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And people complaining about how there life is *so hard* because their parents won't buy them an iPhone or the guy they like doesn't like them back.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's what MyWhiteProblems.com is for!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I really didn't expect a post about Facebook to be that deep.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I kept waiting for this to be a joke, but then it was all serious.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yeah, I tend to be a bit more serious than most amiriters. Everything seems to be a witty joke on this website

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's one of the reasons I deleted my Facebook.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think that story is cool, my bro.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How cool?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Have you ever started eating an ice cream cone, but the ice cream portion would fall into your hand, and you would try and squish the ice cream back into the cone?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's not very cool (cry2)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

20% cooler

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think it's less about being selfish and more about needing someone, anyone, to validate that you are a person worth noticing. That's what is so compelling about Amirite: your statistics are a way of quantifying your value and uniqueness.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Earlier this summer, I found myself getting extremely depressed because my friends would never interact with me on Facebook, so I deleted my account for aboot a month or so. Then I spent too much time on amirite, and people took notice of my comment "night-walking". When I came back to Facebook, some of my friends were like "OH WoW! You're back! Never leave facebook like that again, or I'll forget you or something!" I think I have a Facebook because I am afraid of being forgotten... d

by Anonymous 12 years ago

oooh, ur smart (not sarcastic, even though it sounds like it).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My statistics on here are all negative which makes me unique, right?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i downvoted you to encourage your uniqueness :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's basically encouraging you to be like that. I'm not saying I'm okay with it, but it's what I feel is the truth.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

its funny that you say that, i;m always there just seeing if anyone wrote to me instead of checking everyone else, then I realize that if i want someone to comment on me, I have to comment on them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

ditto. We are all wrapped up in our own little worlds, and who can blame us? The whole of life's experience is filtered through one's mind and one's body. Considering other people over yourself is truly a discipline and does not come naturally at all

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The Laws if Facebook: 1. You must post pictures of yourself either "having fun" with friends or in the bathroom mirror (and the odd occasion where you can do both.) 2. You must never and I repeat NEVER use proper grammar or capitalization. EVER. 3. You need to post at least one status everyday with song lyrics. 4. It is necessary to attempt at sounding deep, but tragically fail. 5. You need tell everyone how you are a photogropher after you take a black and white picture. 6. You have to complain about the new Facebook layout. 7. Last, and most importantly, you must ALWAYS have more friends than everyone else. It doesn't matter if you know them JUST.SEND.THEM.A.REQUEST. Follow these rules and you are sure to fit in on Facebook!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Is it weird that my facebook is pretty much the opposite of that? Maybe that's why I've only got like 50 friends (most of which are family)...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So is mine, but that is what the majority of people do on Facebook.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That sucks. None (or maybe 2) of my friends are like that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i made a list of list of jokes as my facebook status'(s?) and this one time i did a 38 day countdown to an album coming out, it freaked people out ^_^

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll admit... I am self-centered. I gain attention through constant status updates and amirite commenting.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You are not the only one. I'll admit it about myself as well.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

more or less.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I usually remove those people from my news feed. I only update my status if I have something interesting or witty to say. I usually use facebook to interact with my friends. Who cares what other people do?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Throw a party or go to a party...BOOM social networking, oh my god interacting with people in real life-mind blown.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

anyone else have friends who post those stupid "like for a truth is" statuses?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So facebook is, in essence, just shameless self-promotion?
