People who hate the military are usually the ones who never talked to a serviceman before, amirite?

My mom works in a government center and she usually gets some soldiers coming in. She was talking with one guy who said that at one base, people who saw him shouted obscenities and threw stuff. It's sickening that people do that [to anyone, let alone someone who protects their freedom]

If you don't like what the military does you only have yourselves to blame because you elected the government officials that give us orders. If we don't follow those orders they can put us in jail.

I really hope that most people don't hate the military people themselves, but the politicians who force them to go fight pointless wars in other countries. I do NOT support the war(thanks Dubya, you hillbilly moron), but I support the men and women fighting, so much so that I'd like to bring them all home today and fuck the consequences for that country. As anon #392659 said; they have to follow orders.

I don't hate the military, I respect soldiers alot, I just don't like war but I know that some wars are necessary to protect Americas freedom I just wish they weren't.

I respect the soldiers, but I hate the war. I don't see reason to hate the soldiers. They're protecting their country. It's very noble.

i agree, but there are ignorant teenagers and such who put the blame on individual soldiers. they say soldiers are bad cause they "kill people", which is ignorant to the extreme. mostly cause only 1/4th of the jobs in the military are in the field. the rest, they just do paper work and stuff.

Many people have said it, but I'll say it again: I respect our nations military and our soldiers greatly. They are simply doing their duty and protecting us. It's the government officials who send our troops to do stupid stuff (like this damn war) that we should be critiscizing.
