by Anonymous12 years ago
I'll be fine with any age 18 or over.

I am absolutely shocked that this post has a positive score, but that's probably because the average age of users is so young. I'm sure a lot of the YYA'ers will change their views in a few years.

I agree, I used to want to wait, but now it sounds almost prudish
by Anonymous12 years ago
14 but im not a virgin.... its not something im proud of, but it happened and im not gonna just stop, you end up having sex at some point in your life, why delay it?
by Anonymous12 years ago
When I was 12/13 I thought I was going to wait, but then I realised that it's just unrealistic.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I agree. It would be a crime if only one girl on Earth got to experience DJ's amazing lovemaking
by Anonymous12 years ago
Im waiting till I'm older but i don't think I'll wait until I'm married
by Anonymous12 years ago
Wait no longer.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I used to, but then my opinion changed - not on sex, but on marriage. A party and a white dress and some words are not going to define my relationship to such a drastic extent.
by Anonymous12 years ago
But it does give you many nice legal benefits.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I sure hope not.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I haven't really decided yet.. I mean I haven't even been presented with an oppurtunity to make that choice. Either way, I think I'm too young to deal with sex, even if I could. And I don't think I fully understand the role it will have in a relationship from an emotional standpoint.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm waiting, its just my personal weird understanding.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Not weird at all!
by Anonymous12 years ago
There's no really point in waiting. Virginity isn't really something that special when you think about it. It's overrated, is what I'm saying.
Also, I want to note that the best time to have sex is when both persons are mentally and emotionally mature enough for it, regardless of age or marital status. A wedding and the recitation of some vows one of you will probably break in 3 years don't suddenly make you more emotionally strong or mentally equipped for anything.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That may be, but for me it isn't about the virgin label or the fancy dress and gowns. I know it is not going to be any different if it's with someone I love whether the day before or the day after a one hour ceremony with fancy outfits. But I personally don't want to deal with the hassles that sex can bring into a relationship. It isn't worth the risk for me. At least after I'm married I know that this person will be there for me.
Again, just my opinion. But it Is what I'm sticking to.

I think it's just the point of waiting till you're emotionally/mentally mature enough and doing it with the right person. Waiting till marriage seems a bit...weird to me. I also think that living together before marriage should be fine as well, but that's just me :)

Can we cut the crap and say it's from the fear of God/god(s)? I am 19 and a virgin, not because of some lame hipster BS that's about emotions and readiness, but because I was raised in church. I am equally urged to slam that hot drunken girl at a party just as much as the next guy, I just view it as immoral.

How quaint!
by Anonymous1 year ago
Yeah, waiting until I get married..That's totally the reason why I haven't had sex.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm not waiting until marriage, but I'm not the sort of person that would have sex with just anyone. I'd like to be in a relationship for a while before thinking about that.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I think it's better to wait until after marriage. Because if this person loves you enough to marry you before sex, then obviously they're not just after your body. I read a quote once that said, "A guy who truly loves his girl, doesn't need to unbutton her shirt to get a better view of her heart."
by Anonymous12 years ago
I never really understood the whole concept of your virginity being "a special gift you give to your partner." That phrase actually creeps me out a little bit.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm 17, and i'm waiting until marriage.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I think it's terrible that kids are having sex younger and younger because 'every one else is doing it' it's not a pressure 12 or 13 year olds should have to deal with and it's riddiculous. We don't need pregnant 13 year olds running around. tennagers are angsty enough as it is.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm saving myself for someone who wants to have sex with me.
