women have only been able to vote since 1920... nice try though.

Took the words right out of my mouth...that's only 90 years...

there is so much more to women rights then just voting. For instance, the first national women's right convention was held in 1850.

Not a Twilight fan but, how is it detrimental to women's rights?
by Anonymous13 years ago
yeah i dont get it either...

Maybe because many women fought to be accepted as strong independent beings and twilight is about some stupid chick throwing her life away for a guy.

As Gabzouzou said, hundreds, even thousands, of women struggled to show we're just as strong and independent as men, and we should be respected. Then Twilight came, and women are now depicted as needy people who MUST have a man in their lives and are content with cooking and cleaning.
Don't get me wrong, I love women jokes, but that's because they're false.
And some states had voting rights for women for a long time, like the newer states. It wasn't made an amendment until 1918.

Finally someone gets it.

Women fought to be accepted as equals to men, but if you're foolish enough to think that that a book can destroy something like that then your brain isn't equal to that of a human. Further more a book of one girl who wants to be with a guy doesn't reflect upon the individual at all.
