+789 You hate when people think special needs kids shouldn't come to public places like the movie theatre or a restraunt. They are people too, amirite?

As long as they aren't yelling/crying while I'm trying to enjoy a meal or watch a movie or whatever, I've no problem with them being in public.

Whoops I read this as just 'kids' instead of 'special needs kids'.

Still, your original statement has merit.

Yeah loud drooling people.

Restaurant? You seem like a special needs kid yourself. I have a problem with it when they ruin my day. There was one in the theater when I was seeing Toy Story 3 and it kept screaming. Completely ruined the movie. That kid should have been aborted.

Holy shit, dude..

they're not really people...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't mind them out in public... that way I can point and laugh

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't mind, but what gets me is when they aren't kicked out of the theater/restaurant when they do act up. If they want to be treated like normal people, they should face normal people consequences.

Well said! Nobody should be allowed to ruin the movie or meal for others by just sitting there and SCREAMING.

People with special needs are still people. And if I ever saw someone point and laugh at someone with a disability, I'd slap them across the face. They can't help the way they were born, and from my time spent being close to my Aspie bf and a few of his special friends, I find them to be better human beings than we can ever hope to be.

Better? That's just ridiculous.

They're more understanding and accepting of others. They care about fairness and loving one another to an extent that the rest of us can only dream of at times. So I stand by what I said. Special needs people are awesome!
