+363 If you were offered eternal life, you know you wouldn't take it, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most religions offer eternal life...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It depends on what exactly you mean by "eternal life" . Do I stop aging completely? Can I still be injured? Can I be killed by weapons but not by old age?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how about ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN? thereee... how does that sound(: heaven is perfect... it takes a lot of pain and sorrow here on earth before you get to heaven... but once your there. its the most beautiful place on earth. and you get to spend forever there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

unless you do something bad and end up in hell

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but you see... If you ask God to be your savior. and you make a little mistake. all you have to do is ask him to forgive youu... and he will. isnt that great? cause no matter how much you dont mean to mess up... you still do sometimes. and God gets that... because we are only humans. and we all sin in some way or another.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

so what you're saying is, no matter how much we mess up in life and no matter how many people we kill, we will still get into blissful heaven for all eternity to enjoy? if god forgives everything, why wont everyone just suicide to get into heaven right away?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I asked a Christian that once and she said that if you suicide, you'll go to hell, because you don't have time to ask forgiveness and aside from breaking the 10 commandments, it is an ultimate sin. But, I was like..sureeeeeee.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

BTW its not some "ultimate" sin. It is however, a sin nonetheless. See, all sin is equal to God, because, big or small, a sin is a sin and any small one could separate us from Him by making us imperfect. And a commandment says not to kill. Killing yourself is still killing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think you're good as long as you can live with your decisions and forgive yourself so that your life can go on, and you aren't forever dwelling on that guy you killed last week.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uhm how do you know heaven even exists? Because a book says it ? I'd be happy if it was there and all, but you really don't know what's after death so you can't say "oh it's the most wonderful place". It might be, but we don't know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

true. we dont know for sure. but my faith believes that. and when you believe it... it all becomes so clear that that is the only explanation to life. and that heaven will be the most beautiful place on earth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not on earth... sorry. better then any place on earth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you know heaven is there through faith and faith is accepting something even though you can't see it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no no nooo... see. thats the confusing part. you cant just intentionally mess up as extreme as killing someone. then you arent a Christian. as Christians... you actually try to make God happy. its not like you wanna go and murder someone just cause you can. Gd forgives us if we mean no harmm... and im sure even if you did kill someone.... and ou were truely so sorry... and you really wanted God to forgive you. he would. we wants those who trust completely in Him to go to heaven. but if you dont care about God or anything, then that saddens Himm... and he doesnt WANT you to go to hell... but e cant let those who didnt live for him... get to experience the over joying sensation of heaven.

Legitimate question: Would your god accept those Jews, Muslims, or Hindus that are just as sure as you into heaven? Because my thing is that why would he send those people to hell if they lived a good life but just came to different conclusions?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no he wouldnt... because he dwells in heaven. and why he want people in heaven that dont believe in Him? He gives us a choice. to accept Him or not to. He doesnt force us to do anything. but the ones who please Him and accept Him are the ones who GET TO spend eternity in heaven.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It depends your damn religion, not everyone thinks there is God, they all have a God that they believe in, but I'm not sure that all the gods have the same priniciple.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If i would be offered the ability to stop time and while time has been stopped i wouldn age at all i would take that offer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And if I could stay young eternally, I might accept. It might suck after awhile when every dies that you love, but you could do so many things :) . Oh, and yeah, could you kill yourself? That should be the only way that you couldn't live eternelly, if you wanted to die. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Voldemort would

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God is the greatest. But He will not forgive everything. There are many people, and God does not feel any remorse for penalizing anybody. He does forgive, He does not forget. On the day of judgement, He decides your next life. This is Islam.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would take it because that would give me time to do what I enjoy (music) without having to worry about getting food and shelter.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But that would really suck ass if you got a life sentence in jail... Imagine spending eternity in prison...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God offered His Son for us to be able to get into Heaven. Accepting Him is the only way in. Its like having multiple roads all leading to different places. Just because I intend to go down the road leading me to Heaven, and take a different one, I'm still not gonna end up there. If you don't accept Jesus, you can't end up in Heaven because He is the only way that a non-perfect person, which is us, can spend time with a perfect God.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I meant if you were offered eternal life on earth. I wouldn't take, since it would be too painful to see everyone I love pass away, and then repeat that again forever

just a note on the topic that seems to have come up over heaven. So the thing about going to heaven after you die, is that... you dont. Your "soul" does not leave your body and carry on in the afterlife because according to science your "soul" is actually a product of the conscious brain and your self awareness- the ability of humans to say "Hey i exist"; robots cant do that so they don't have "souls". but listen if this awareness of our existence and purpose in life -so commonly referred to as our soul- is only a product of higher level thinking in a squishy aqueous human organ then sorry but it does not outlive our body; our brains dies right along with us and so does our "soul". therefore we do not go to heaven. As for living eternally... well that would be just terrible

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The human consists of three parts; flesh, soul and spirit. Your spirit does continue to live after death... Secondly, God is above all a God of love, we were created to love Him with everything we have. He sent Jesus to show us His love for us amongst other reasons. His love for humankind. Jesus died for the sins of all, everyone on earth, everyone in heaven and everyone in hell. But not everyone chooses His love and forgiveness. Understanding Gods love is like diving into a never ending pool, it just gets deeper and wider, but as soon as you realise the power of His love, even if you're only dipping your toes in the water, it transforms you, love doesn't want to sin. If you love someone, one generally tries to please them. Unfortunately we still have a flesh, and our flesh just longs to please it self, but luckily we are forgiven and overtime your spirit and faith in God as well as your experience of His love grows so that your fleshly desires die. That is how I see it, no offen...

Just a note about the location of heaven, I personally believe that if we allow God to work in our lives he will transform us from glory to glory to forming us into perfection one day, God is a God of life, His name brings life and new growth. Sin however brings death, currently the earth is dying as sin doesn't just influence you personally but the whole community, environment included. So what I'm trying to build up to, is that I believe that the Father shall restore and renew the earth and that He shall dwell with us in paradise, which is a renewed and then absolutely beautiful earth.

It's not about living forever, Jackie. It's about living with yourself forever.
