Especially when they pronounce it wrong and refuse to change how they say it.

Yes because my name is Megan and some people say it like "May gin" while others say "Meh gin"

Yeah. And some people just can't figure out how it's supposed to be pronounced. Or spelt. It's not the most common name ever, I'll admit, but still, you'd think they'd at least be able to get close. :/

I've been called Ee-liz-uh-beth, Ee-liz-ih-beth Uh-liz-uh-beth, Uh-liz-ih-beth, Ih-liz-uh-beth, Ih-liz-ih-beth, Liz-uh-beth, Liz-ih-beth and Lizzybeth. It annoyed me to no end, but luckily I go by Lizzie now, which people can actually figure out how to say (unless they're a toddler... then it's usually Yizzie or Yiddie (though I once got called Fizz).
