Avatar the Last Airbender might have been a little more interesting if Zuko was Katara's love interest, amirite?

I always liked Zuko/Katara better than Aang/Katara. It makes more sense to me.

How does it make sense? Katara's all touchy-feely and Zuko holds back his emotions. It'd just make him feel awkward whenever she talked.

A lot of fans think of him as the dorky bald 12 year old, not the powerful but nice and peace loving avatar. Fans just think Zuko's more sexy.

I ship Zuko and Sokka. For no reason whatsoever. That, and you average pairings which they ended up with in the series

To be interesting, I think the series has to focus more on the main character than the two side character's romantic relationship. Just look what happened to Ben 10 in the spin-offs. Tons of fans complain about the writers focussing too much on the supporting cast's romantic entanglement.

Ok it's pretty obvious Zuko and Mai are supposed to be with each other and Aang and Katara are supposed to be together! It would have just messed everything up! Who would Aang have ended up with? He had been in love with Katara since the first episode!!! You can't mess that up!

People ship Aang with Toph most of the time, but that doesn't make much sense either. Especially since it's been obvious Aang was in love with Katara from the first. Scene. They had together. We all saw the way he looked at her; that's love.

Yeah I just knew they were going to end up together! Anyway I think Toph needs someone stronger! Aang is really touchy feely and Toph is kind of closed off!

It was already shown that they have a tough time getting along. How can you be romantically involved with a guy you ever called "twinkle toes"? I think Toph and Teo would be cute, or Toph and The Duke, but we don't know if they have chemistry because we almost never see them together.
