What I meant is, if you don't care about your friend very much, then it doesn't hurt you to hurt them.

This is totally true. I accidentally mentioned my friend's ex and she basically broke down. It took almost a week to convinve myself to not feel so bad about it. And I'm pretty sure she was fine the next day.
