That's probably because since anime was originated in an oriental country, it was based off of oriental people.

No, they look more white. Sorry hun. Typically, people of East Asian descent will have smaller eyes (I'm not racist, I am also Asian, also, look at Ancient Chinese and Japanese art, they're drawn with smaller eyes). In Anime however, the characters have BIG eyes. It also doesn't help when if you compared the characters to real life, they'd be well over 6 feet and the average Japanese height is only 5' 7 1/2. I could go on and on about this but Anime wasn't only meant for Asians. It was meant for the world, so Animators had to draw characters who would appeal to also white people.
