+323 if 18 is old enough for a person to go and risk their lives to protect our country, they should be able to legally drink a beer, amirite?

Protecting the country while under the influence?

inb4 hurdurrrr soldiers are bad they terrorists

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm tired of seeing this everywhere. Get the fuck over it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

18 year olds already drink. So if it is legal for them, then more 15 year olds would drink. The End.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

On the other hand 15 year olds might think "Oh it's only 3 years, I can wait". Your option is more likely but I do know some people who think this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah I'm 1 of those people who would wait

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no most of them don't think that. Haha. It's really annoying though since they somehow manage to get into all the good clubs, and who wants to party with children?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe you should read my comment again. I didn't say most of them think they could wait I said some, and I said it's more likely that they'll do what the anon said and start drinking younger.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

15 year olds already drink.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thanks for telling me what I already know. I did say that MORE 15 year olds would drink. Read carefully next time..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OP, not everyone on the internet lives in the United States you self-absorbed ignorant little fuckhead.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They're not assuming everyone on here lives in the US. True they could have put"Americans:" at the beginning but it's still pretty obvious that they mean that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But the OP didn't say that. The OP does not know that outside of the United States people can drink at different ages.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How do you know that they don't? It's pretty common knowledge that other countries have different drinking laws. Also just because this post could apply to Americans doesn't mean the OP is a "self-absorbed ignorant little fuckhead." They could be talking about Indonesia, Paraguay, Iceland, Sri Lanka, Japan, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, or Kazakhistan.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Which isn't the case.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And you know this how?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

http://www.amirite.net/210123 That's proof this guy is American.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really don't like this argument. Not because I disagree, but because I think that alcohol should be outlawed altogether. People always seem to forget that ALCOHOL KILLS YOU. ALCOHOL IS A DRUG. I don't care how old you are. It's unhealthy. My high school just started a Don't Drink and Drive campaign for its students. As if we've given up telling teenagers not to drink at all. It's repulsing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A lower drinking age would lead to less underage drinking because they wouldn't see it as something so mysterious, fun and adultlike. A good example is Germany, you can drink at 16, can't drive til 18, they have a lot less accidents than us. Cultures where alcohol is intergrated early have much lower drinking-related accidents.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But what about everyone else who isn't a soldier? Thats just giving people who are fresh out of highschool the opportunity to get completely wasted at bars and then drive themselves home. I mean, plenty of people under 21 already drink, but at least those laws deter SOME of them. also (don't quote me on this) but I'm pretty sure when you're in the military, drinking laws are amended.

18 in the UK-and no i didn't wait until then.
