Why do we say we know things by heart? Shouldn't we know things by brain? Amirite?

That expression comes from the ancient Egyptian belief that the heart was where your mind was located. :]

But we know everything by brain. So it would be irrelevant. It sounds so much more convincing when you say "it by heart", cause its like you know it so well you feel it in your heart.

I think that the saying is "by heart" because you're trying to compare your ability to do something without having to focus on it like how you use your heart to pump blood through your body without even thinking about it for a second..

Actually I know the person who made the real post. And since neither names are an actual username, it's quite easy to just say you posted it when you didn't and sign it to make it look like you did.
