Superstition? I mean, if you're going to start dissecting superstitions, you've got your work cut out for you. Why are black cats, the number 13, heads-down pennies and spilling salt considered unlucky? Why are heads-up pennies, the number 7, and the aforementioned rabbit's feet and horseshoes considered lucky? It's not supposed to make sense; that's why we call it superstition.
