(black brit): Because by looks, you'd expect them to have a different accent.

I'm white and canadian and my cousin is black and British. I love her accent :) I think it's totally cool!

Yeah, I was listening to the song "American Boy", and the vocalist is British, but she is from an African decent. It's amazing.

Errrrrm does that make black people with an American accent weird? Why would it change for someone with a British accent? Or if they are Asian with an Australian accent... I don't think it's weird at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is completely unrelated but the moment you said "Asian with an Australian accent" I thought of "Communitychannel" on Youtube (Her name is Natalie). It's the only Asian-Australian person I can think of.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well living in Australia there are lots of Australian Asians... just like in Britain there are lots of Black people. It's not weird for people to have a diffrent accent to their heritage is all I'm saying.

Ooops I misread your comment so my one above dosn't really make sence as a reply. But yeah I think I know who you're talking about, she's pretty funny if it's the same one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't say it was weird, I said it was confusing lol

Like that detective that helps Sylar in season 4 of Heroes, and that girl with the Ouija board in Long Time Dead, and that girl in that one modelling show :) I think it's cool, not confusing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

really.... Well that's just like saying it's really confusing when a black person has an ameican accent.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well its because in America, most African Americans talk slightly different from everyone else..so ppl expect that in britain too i guess.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ha i saw a black comdeian once and as soon as she started talking she was like im sure you're confused by my accent, but i assure you, we do exist.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not when you live in Britain, you kind of get used to it xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ahhhh my teacher is black with an english accent! when i first met him &heard him talk i was sooo confused xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you kidding? African Americans are originally from Africa. It's a continent with over 50 countries and millions and millions of people. Many of them have moved throughout history and will continue to migrate. What a strange, sad conversation. Do first-generation African Americans confuse you too? How stupid.

I was just saying I'd expect them to have a different accent..
