Yes it may be called soda but some people call it pop. it doesn't really matter. just like some people call the remote a box. it doesn't matter.

Actually, it's definitely soft drink.

It is most definitely Icy Beverage, and in caps letters like that too

Pop/Soda is disgusting. Water ftw.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's strictly preference, there's no right or wrong answer, like sunscreen vs sun tan lotion.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Its actually called sodapop.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I guess it depends on where you live.
I live in Canada and we call it pop I guess people in the US would call it soda and some people call it sodapop! There is no right or wrong answer because basically soda and pop are the same thing.

In Australia we call it softdrink

I call it pop.

As far as I know "pop" is a midwestern thing. I live in the midwest. I call it pop, and most people I know do, though I regularly hear both. I still think "soda" sounds odd though.
What you call it is regional. No matter what, people will know what you're referring to. Not a big deal.

I call it "the stuff"

by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh come on. We all know its simply a 'carbonated beverage'...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Its Mt dew, cause that's all that's worth drinking!
by Anonymous13 years ago
I happily deliver a 'Fuck you' from here in the Midwest~
Naw, dun worry, we say the same thing in vice-versa.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's "Pop" in the north. I call "soda" people out, haha. And in Wisconsin, they called water fountins "bubblers". It's weird to me, but whatever.

The name we can all agree on is "Non-Alcaholic Carbonated Beverage", but here are some nicknames and my analysis of them:
Pop- No. It has way too many other meanings.
Soft Drink- Sounds too professional and serious.
Coke- You're an idiot. Coke is one brand of soda.
Sodapop- I don't know why, but when someone says that, it makes me think of the 50's.
Soda- Why not? It's short and doesn't have any other widely known meaning.
