I HATE IT. They don't have the same element of writing as the author. And the storylines. Don't get me wrong, there's some REALLY good fanfic out there. It's just not for me.

It all depends on who wrote it, and if they kept the characters correct. Many people tend to take the characters and stretch them way out of their original personality. (Thus giving all fanfiction a bad reputation.)
