hah, that's not what the OP is saying. they're saying building a mosque would lead to greater understanding, and therefore greater acceptance, of the religion of Islam by the American people. It would show the world that we're capable of forgiveness and ultimately rise above our differences. You can think what you want but I wasn't trying to be condescending. If you're not familiar with the story( I don't know if they broadcast it in other countries) , some people want to set up a mosque in a building a few blocks from ground zero and there's a lot of people protesting it. I made the post because it bothers me when people say a mosque would promote terrorism when it would do no such thing. From what i understand about Islam, the qur'an doesnt advocate terrorism any more than the bible advocates the KKK.

Wait, what? America tried to stay out of BOTH World Wars, because both Presidents at the time believed it was a bad idea to be involved in Europe's war.
