-152 If a product isn't tested on animals, how do we know it's safe for us, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

people are saying "no way" but none of them gave an answer...I really don't know how it would be safe w/o testing on animals. Doesn't mean I 100% approve of animal testing though...

We test it on children. Duh.

Umm, maybe because animals aren't humans. Sure, they may experience similar effects to the products as we do, but why should we harm, or potentially harm, them just to see if a product is safe? Think about it, they don't test animal food on humans. If it doesn't go both ways, we shouldn't do it at all.

You're trying to say animals are equal to people. In case you havn't noticed, animals *aren't* people. They are far more primitive. Plus, you're a sheltered silly city kid if you think "o noe don't hurt teh aminalz!!!1!!" go hunting with some relatives, realize that's how meat is turned into food, stop being a pussy. Or if you do happen to be a vegetarian (god forbid) realize you're going against your instincts and that it's no way for a human to live, and go to the nearest restaurant a buy a nice big juicy steak. That will be all.

Animals aren't people, but people are animals. I don't think that using a animal for sustenance is NEARLY the same thing as product /medicinal testing on an animal and forcing it to live in a cage dying slowly and painfully. On of the reasons we humans pride ourselves on being so distinctly above "primitive" animals is our ability to use our intellect, common sense, and also to live civilly. Treating creatures that are "beneath us" like that doesn't seem civil, or humane to me. I have a differing opinion than you do, but I'm not going to scorn your opinion just because we differ. You really didn't have to be so rude to jacque95655...

You know, I was gonna reply to Anonymous up there, but I thank you for your kindness and I support your views. It's people like that guy that really make this world the terrible place that it is and put helpless animals in harm's way for their own benefit. Oh well, it's good to know I'm not the only one out there :)

K so the entire time I was reading this comment, I was thinking something along the lines of "you're a jerk who doesn't respect other people's opinions".

Test it on retards like you

it's fine to test products on animals to an extent, but companies will slice their skin open & pour shampoo into the gaping wound to see if it causes an allergic reaction or w/e...that seems kind of inhumane to me; can't they just take blood samples or something & do it on a more chemical level?

We are animals...

Just because it's not tested on animals doesn't mean it isn't tested at all.

also hopefully you are a little tougher than sensitive bunny eye skin......

Why don't they test it on all the stupid rapists and murderers, they deserve a long lasting punishment?!
