+843 We don't need to worry about teens texting and driving as much as older people texting and driving. Most teenagers can text while not even looking at their phones, while older people need to examine the keyboard and take 3 years to say "WHATS UP?" Amirite?

That's the problem with teenagers. They're overconfident.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sure, teens are generally better at texting. But adults are generally better at driving. They shouldn't text and drive, but teens especially shouldn't.

It's incredibly stupid for either to do it. It's fine if you want to risk your own life to say "lol JK im going 2 see inception!" or whatever, but should you really be risking the lives of the random and probably innocent people who just happen to be driving near you?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the whole point is that it doesn't matter where you're looking. focus is taken a way from the driver. multiple studies prove this. that's why Bluetooth headsets are as bad as holding a phone to your face. know your facts before you bring up the law.

Well, now that most phones only come with a touch keyboard, not really.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lots of people I know don't get phones with keyboards, because they're faster with T9.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah... but most new smart phones don't come with t9.

i wasnt saying that texting while driving is good at all, I was just saying we should more weary if older people are the ones doing it because they usually aren't good at texting.

I Have a iPhone which is touch screen and I can txt without looking at the screen

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Doesn't matter. Your mind is somewhere else, and that's at least one hand that you're not free to do important stuff with, like, you know, driving.

I'm seventeen. I got my license three days ago. I'm pretty decent at texting, and I have no desire to endanger random people by texting while driving.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok that's good, but if you read my first comment you would realize that I wasn't saying that it was OK for teens to text and drive.

@ 354149 yeah true. i was just saying even if your not driving its possible to text without looking on a touch screen phone. because "Shinsou" had said because of touch screen phones not really. I should be getting my licence in about a months time and i have no intention to text or call well driving. nothing is that important to risk crashing over. and if it is then just pull over. I just agree with the post because even if you shouldn't do it, the post is true

Yeah, my state outlawed it for people 21 and under. I mean, yes, they text more, but nothing happens on your twenty-second birthday that makes it impossible to crash while texting and driving.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You've never heard of the Anti-Crash fairy that visits you when you turn 22? When you turn 25 an even stronger fairy comes along and tells your insurance company to lower your price assuming that the first fairy did their job and prevented you from having any accidents.
