+273 If I'm a 30/40-year old parent, I really don't care what your 14/15/16/17-year old boyfriend thinks of me. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A parent should want to build, at the very least, a cordial relationship with their child's significant others and friends. Of course, they may not approve of everyone their child corresponds with and they have all the right in the world to communicate that to their child, but to say "I'm an adult, they're a teen, I don't give a fuck" is ridiculously immature.

You could just say teenage boyfriend

If he doesn't like you, he has all the right to. This post proves to me that you're a bitch anyway.

Everybody's acting like OP is some evil, strict parent. Maybe OP's daughter has a lousy, know-it-all, teenage boyfriend. Sure, OP's daughter's bf has all the right to not like them but OP has 'all the right' not to give a shit.

If the OP was a nice parent, she wouldn't have made the post. Seriously, what nice person needs to bitch over the internet?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The type of nice person that doesn't want to burden others in person. The internet can be a wonderful place to let off steam from daily problems. For all we know, OP could be the nicest and most lenient parent in the world but simply chooses to take out her frustrations online rather than at supposed daughter's boyfriend.

So bitching on the internet makes you mean...? Because nice people don't do that? Solid logic, my good chap.

This reminds me of Parental Control.

What makes everybody think that the parent has a daughter and not a son?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

True.

Because there are more heterosexual people than homosexual people making it more probable to randomly read about a girl having a boyfriend. And, if that is not the case, that one step forward towards dealing with our population problem.
