Who cares about 'presence'? How people perceive you doesn't define who you are as a person and it certainly doesn't define whether you're 'real' or not. What does 'real' mean anyway? Frankly, I think the best people (female or male) are the ones who have the ability to be confident in themselves, yet accept others and their differences. It's irrelevant what you look like physically. That's the closest I can come to defining if someone is 'real' or not, I guess. And if you're so worried about presence- looks can only get you so far, but good character makes a real impact. Putting others down = bad character.
