This is exactly what I always think when I hear people complaining about stupid little things. I hope this makes the homepage.

3 billion people can't read? That's half the world...surely that isn't true?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

agreed its not like "the poor people in africa can't afford to read"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thank you for this. Made me feel better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This gets me thinking how truly blessed I am. Hopefully in the near future this won't be true...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This shouldn't be on this website. Yeah yeah we get it, we should be grateful, blah blah

I agree mostly, but on the other hand, thanks for belittling all my problems and making me feel like I'm a bad person for still being upset about some things when I supposedly have all this going for me... Also, I know this is kinda pessimistic, but although having food, clothes and shelter is always good, most people in the country (that I live in) have all those and more, in fact a lot of people have a lot more than me. And sure, being able to read is great, but it doesn't seem that special when everyone around you can, too. It's just that none of those simple things seem very special when everyone around you has them too, and even has something twice as good. Anyway, it's good that you want to make everyone see how grateful they should be for what they already have, but it is kind of like saying that as long as your basic needs are met, then it's not possible to have any problems. Anyway... I was going to say something else but I forget... Sorry for the long comment! :)

I completely agree with Randomer :) couldn't have said it better myself

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also, i'm sure that more than 8% of the world have $10

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah it you actually do the research, you can kinda see that more than 8% of the fucking population has 10$ 🤦 Jesus christ....

"No Way"ing, due to COMPLETELY fudged numbers. Good sentiment though. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The world's illiteracy rate is 19%, not 48. And I'm pretty sure more than 25% percent of the world has a house, clothing, and food and ten dollars.

Tl;dr

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thanks for making me see i shuld be truly grateful for the litle things... :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good sentiment, horrid/bullshit numbers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This post sounds like it was meant to be sarcastic. Thus the fudged numbers and the unfinished sentence. I thought it was kinda funny...
