Everyone who agreed: book smart, everyone who disagreed: 'street smart'

No, being street smart is just as important as being book smart when you enter your career. And I'm more book smart.

Ya, all you super book smart people will get mugged and gang raped....who cares that you have perfect grammar then? I'm both. I know how to deal with people, and situations (which is the definition of street smart) and i do well in school and on tests (which is book smart)

It's easy not to get mugged and raped. Just stay off the streets and get a good education, which you get with book smarts.

I'm book smart, and I'm a terrible. My aspiration is to be street smart like my younger sister. Yeah.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Street smarts are a valid thing to have... but if you're book smart, you'll know not to get yourself into situations in which you'd need street smarts.

I think there is a thing LIKE street smart, but it should be called "common sense smart"...Because that IS different than book smart.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

street smart is basically common sense, which will get you much farther in life than knowing exactly how to use a semicolon.

I said this in one of my posts

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah this post is a pretty bad insult, I have both, but since I've a lot of street smarts, I usually get people to do my work for me and I still end up doing well in school, see people who are book smart usually end up getting used and being the only one's to do the work in school, while the street smart people put no effort and end up doing as well, just because when it comes to presentation, the street smart people come in handy.... So saying that they have imaginary smart is pretty dumb in my opinion, because depending on how good they are, just like being book smart, they can actually go further in real life....
