I think that's the one thing like about nooks/tablets/whatever other things people read books on electronically. You can simply put it in a ziploc bag and continue reading lol I do this with my i-touch :P

...not really. I've gotten water on my i-touch before. It's not like I'm dropping it in the toilet or something. Anyways I use a new ziploc every time. And my i-touch is not my life...just the music on it :)
