+469 Humans spread their obesity problem onto their cats and dogs. If you give your pet an automatic feeder that just keeps filling back up, you can't blame your pet for eating it, amirite?

or they are just lazy...

My dog is free fed and he is not fat what so over, so I totally disagree.... If you teach your pets to not eat uncontrollably then it's fine.

I'm pretty sure that dogs and cats stop eating when they're full (versus fish, who'll eat until they explode). The problem is that people who don't exercise themselves won't exercise their animals as well, so both get overweight.

Since when do fish eat until they explode? I've had 4 Betta fish and they rarely ate all of the food that they were given...or did they just not like the food?

Well they don't eat until they literally explode xD But more fish die from overfeeding than underfeeding. Fish aren't used to having showers of food and flakes around them and tend to eat as much as they can, rather than in the wild where they'd slowly scavenge for food. Or, uh, that's what I think...I'm no fish expert.

You're right about them dying more from over feeding. It's best to feed fish a little at a time than once their bellies are full (you can easily tell) you stop. You're also right about the scavenging and I am a fish expert :)

Yeah def disagree. I have 3 cats that always have a full food bowl and none of them are overweight.
