I went through a whole new pencil that way because I sharpened that flat part that becomes a point.

Ah but have you done this with an electric sharpener as well?

electric sharpeners grind up you pencil, but yes. I stuck a rock to it so that i could leave for a while (it was a slow one). I forgot about it and came back an hour later, to find the rock sitting on the sharpener and my pencil jamming the thing up.

Haha... You win points for creativity, sir. I've gone through charcoal pencils because I was using a razor to whittle the wood down.. My art teacher wouldn't let us sharpen it any other way.

bring a sharpener to class. It technically also uses a razor blade.
