omg! @390064 (alidoodle23): you mean the gardisal? omg ! oww ! its not that bad AT FIRST but then you feel this achey burning feeling in your arm and omg ASK FOR ICE it helps it alot lol but afterwards, your arm is like sore through the day...and my doctor told me that 1 minute after you get the shot, start rubbing your arm where you got the shot as if you got punched in the arm...like you know when someone punches your arm, you rub it to make it feel better, well after the Gardisal shot, if you rub it, it helps a lot too trust me

omg thank you so much the ice really helped!! the nurse told me not to tense my arm but im pretty sure i did so i think its guna hurt tomorrow cuz it doesnt really hurt now and thats what happened with the last shot i got. but anyway thanks for the advice :)

GAH it hurt my arm and also i have a heart attack and panic attack and want to cry everytime i get a shot..so it wasn't a good experience for me

are you serious? :( i'm sorry ! it'll get better don't worry...i am SO glad i am done with that shot because after the 2nd time i was like "shit, i still have 1 more -_-" and i hate how the nurse like either does the shot slow or she holds the needle in your arm for like a pure 5 seconds then takes it out :p

haha im done with it now :D and i squeezed my moms hand while the doctor gave me the shot, i was so scared i was about to cry :/ LONGEST FEW SECONDS OF MY LIFE

by Anonymous 12 years ago

AGREED. i felt like she had it in my arm for like a whole 30 seconds...and then they try and talk or ask you questions while they give you the shot to 'take your mind off of it'....nothing can take your mind off the fact that you have a freakin sharp ass needle jabbed in your arm lol and i'm glad your done with it too, now you don't have to worry abou tit 1 :)

What is this shot and how the hell do I avoid having to get it?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It doesn't hurt more than a regular shot, it just becomes way more sore than a normal one. If you play sports and use that arm it really sucks!

i agree!!!

I'm not getting it. I'm just not going to carelessly have sex so I probably won't end up with an STD.

You never know. what if you're married and your husband cheated? I'd rather not risk cervical cancer.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Either way, the chances of getting cancer from the HPV virus is pretty low, as are the chances that I'll marry a jerk. If everything works out as planned my husband will be a big enough loser that I'll be the only one who would even remotely want to sleep with him. But that's beside the point.

Okay, I respect your opinion and see your point. I don't plan on carelessly having sex, either, but it is highly recommended by doctors, and I go the "you never know" route.

Cervical cancer is usually a gene... it's in my family. My mom and grandma had it!
