Avatar was a good movie and all, but the media did make it sound like the Second Coming. amirite?

"Inception" was way better anyway.

I literally 'lol'd. Plot line was basically stolen from Pocahontas.

So in a way one could say it was the "Second Coming".

TOTALLY stolen from Pocahontas! In the beginning my friend and I predicted the whole movie because we were like, "Ok. This is Pocahontas...." And, it was. Just a blue Pocahontas... with some Fern Gully in there...

I actually didn't like inception. Yes, the idea was amazing, but it was kind of terribly executed. And if most people are confused by the movie, that's not a good sign (although I wasn't. I saw it as really predictable).
I liked Avatar better. :)

AVATAR better than INCEPTION!?!??!? Oh my goodness. TERRIBLY EXECUTED? CONFUSING?!?!?! Watch it again, my friend. Watch it again.

I was really unimpressed by Avatar as well, but mostly because I was expecting it to be Surrogate... I rarely watch TV and so didn't see a lot of commercials. The words are similar in meaning. I was disappointed that it seemed so much like a kid's movie, and also by how overdone and predictable the plot was(as mentioned). I loved Surrogate, though. =) I want one of those.

Avatar was actually astonishingly bad. The plot and storyline was completely unoriginal (heck they even stole the mechs from the matrix), the characters in the movie were complete stereotypes to a laughable degree and it felt like they were trying to preach morals to a crowd of 5 year olds.

I think it stole ideas from tons of places. Like the person above me said, the mechanisms were stolen from the Matrix, the plotline was similar to Pocahontis, and I think when the humans are ripping up the forest, natives to the forest try to protect it, and a main character becomes one of the natives to help, this sounds alot like the children's movie Ferngully
