CURSE YOU , I WAS TOTALLY GOING TO SAY THAT.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

AS WAS I. also, the rule is weird, foreign, and ancient.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

AW I WAS GONNA SAY THAT TOO. Fiddlesticks.

I before E except after C or when sounding like A as in neighbor or weigh and on weekends and holidays and all thoughout May and you'll always be wrong, no matter what you say!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Interesting. Oh, and you spelled "throughout" wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The rule doesn't qualify if the "I" and "E" are in different syllables, such as "bEIng" and "effIcIEnt" (ef-fi-ci-ent).

I before E, except after C, if the sound is E For example, the word Weird doesn't have an E sound, it's a ee-er sound.

I always thought ee sounded like E. My bad.
