+255 The government needs to revamp its student loan limits. Seriously, $3500 a year isn't going to make a dent in a $35,000/year tuition, amirite?

Okay, I'll take an educated guess here and presume you're talking about America. But holy fuck! $35,000/year????? If my calculations are accurate, that's more than it costs to complete your entire bachelor's degree in Canada.

(Your+name+(optional)): A lot of private schools have that kind of tuition here in America. Also, if you try to go to school out-of-state, then you have to pay higher tuition rates. At Auburn University, in-state is about $5,000/semester while out-of-state is around $11,000/semester.

Thats only 10 years, correct me if I'm wrong. But, not quite sure how it works there. But in Australia, as far as I know, you get hardly any help. My parents left uni at least 15 years ago, they still have payments. You guys are lucky!

But if you're a citizen, you get the HECS-HELP loan, so you don't actually have to pay your fees until you start earning a decent amount of money. It's a lot cheaper too, as Commonwealth supported places are loads cheaper (my course is $2800 a year). The loan's interest free too, so I wouldn't say that we Australians "get hardly any help".

Ah, My mum isn't a citizen.. perhaps thats why.

Or you could go to a public school where tuition is about $14000 a year and $3500 actually does make a decent dent

The government doesn't have all this money to just give out to college students. Maybe once we're out of debt we can start getting the government to give us more money.
