Normally most of the money for political campaigns are funded by their political parties. Also, most jobs that provide enough experience to have a good person run are high paying.

It's actually better in most cases if the rich run. If its not them the candidate has to be funded through special-interest groups, making them uber-corrupt and willing to act in favor of those groups without thought to who they represent. If the don't, the dot get funded and can't run anymore. And like Meagan said, if they're rich, that probably means they're smart
