It does depend on the substitute.

My teacher was in the hospital for about a month and the substitute for her class was horrible! She called the students slow, said that we had no friends, and that we held grudges. One girl in my class actually cried tears of joy when our real teacher came back.

Most substitutes are boring,but some are good. Sometimes it's nice to have a change, though.
