Why does skinny equate to b%*(#?

I'm a size 20 and everyone looks at me like I'm a cow. What am I saying? I AM a cow! Growing up, my little sister would be a size 2 in juniors while I was a size 16. And she'd just put on my pants and they'd fall right off her tiny little legs. It made me feel so insecure! But then, I realized how she was just doing that because SHE felt insecure! So I was like, "Whatever. You can rock your ruler-shaped body while I rock my sexy curves." :)

Being fat doesn't equal "sexy curves", as much as you'd like to tell yourself that. Being substantially overweight is hard on your body and bad for your health.

I just threw up in my mouth

It pisses me off when overweight people call themselves curvy. I have wide hips and a thin waist, that is curvy. You don't have to be a size 30 to be curvy (I'm a size 4-6 or usually a small in shirts).

I know! Samantha, I don't mean to be mean or anything, but fat isn't curvy. I have the same body type as Jabberjay, I'm a 4-8 (usually 6. It just depends on the brand) and have wide hips and a thin waist. Again, don't mean to be rude, but I kind of think that people just say 'curvy' for fat just to make themselves better because the word 'fat' is actually really strong and can make you insecure. Wouldn't you rather have someone say you're curvy rather than fat or overweight?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sure. There's a difference between curvy and fat.

Beautiful humans are characterized by near-ideal ratios of the size of their body parts to others. Obesity will definitely fuck those ratios up, and so will usually drastically reduce a person's beauty.

I'm not healthy. I know that and I'm working on it, and I'm not saying I'm beautiful BECAUSE I'm fat. I'm saying I am despite of it. I know that being overweight is a flaw and I don't pretend that it's some endearing quality. Regardless, I don't let that define me and I appreciate my other nice physical and character attributes.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Okay, but if we're talking about beauty in the physical sense, then it's senseless to say that excess fat tissue doesn't reduce one's beauty.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, that's subjective but yes generally speaking, most people's perception of me physically will be less positive than of someone smaller, all other things being equal. But that aside, I still like a lot about the way I look. Like, I think I have a very pretty face. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, it's not subjective. Excess fat usually makes someone objectively less beautiful.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If it's not subjective, every person's idea of ideal attractiveness would be the same. Obviously, most people don't think 200 lbs.+ girl is sexy personified, but there are people who do. I'm not one of them, but they certainly exist.

It is about proportions. But also how you carry yourself. Confidence makes you more attractive. Also if your a size 18 don't wear a bikini. I'm sorry but it wont make guys want you. It might have the opposite effect. Wear clothes that make you look attractive.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Trust me, big girls wearing grotesquely revealing clothing is one of my biggest pet peeves. I am very cautious in choosing clothes that will flatter me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No you can't, it's illegal.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You can have a fat body but still have attractive hair, face, and fashion sense. So yes, a size 18 person can be attractive. And, there are the people who prefer fat ones.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Its about you carry yourself. I'm a size 18 and I don't look nearly as big as some of the people I know who are the same size. I have wider hips, and my body is more muscle than fat, where as a lot of people do have a lot of excess fat. Big can be beautiful, but someone whose a size 26 and thinks "OMG I'm sexy!" scares me...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If bigger people don't wear little people's clothes and they know how to carry themselves with dignityand self-respect and not arrogance or a lack of confidence, they can look just as good as the next person
