But if curse words were treated as casual, regular words around children, then they would eventually lose their effect in the real world. Then what do we say for emphasis?

Gee willikers, obviously! But hey, I think the whole situation is really annoying. like, my mother always swears immensly in front of me, and then goes ahead and tells me not to swear. she like freaks out if I do. but, if she doesn't want me swearing, then she should not be hypocritical, and not swear herself. so, i don't know about you guys, but in my situation, i'd be less tempted to swear if my mother didn't.
