Sometimes it seems more merciful to let your friend die instead of sacrificing yourself to save him, just to let him get the glory of being the hero, as well as saving him the survivor's guilt. amirite?

There's really no way to tell if they'd want that though.... considering you can't exactly ask them right as they're about to die :P
