Being a vegetarian but eating fish is like being a pacifist but occassionally punching a small child in the face. amirite?

Fish isn't technically meat. Christians aren't supposed to eat meat on Fridays during lent but they eat fish. Therefore fish isn't meat.

It's still an animal. So it doesn't make much of a difference if it's 'meat' or not. It's the flesh on an animal.

Catholics didn't stop eating meat on Fridays because of vegetarianism, it was to overcome, or lesson, the sin of gluttony. Apparently fish isn't tasty or addicting enough to make one gluttonous, either that, or they decided people needed some form of protein, and fish seemed like the least gluttonous alternative.

It depends on your reasons for becoming a vegetarian. Some people do it for health reasons, and might still eat fish because fish isn't fatty like other animals.

I'm a vegetarian but I eat fish. A lot of people in my family are anemic, and I have a slightly low iron level, so I need iron from somewhere. That's why I eat fish.

Fish really isn't meat though because it isn't considered flesh nor does it bleed. Also fish don't really have feelingss because most don't have a brain just nerves like goldfish only have a memory of 3 seconds cause the don't really have a brain...except sharks

im a vegetarian and i dont eat fish, chicken, or anything that once had a face. i still drink milk, eat yogurt and cheese tho! but being a vegetarian means you eat NO MEAT AT ALL. fish had a face; u eat their flesh, its MEAT! :P

I'm a vegetarian too. I don't eat fish, or chicken, or anything that once had a face, just like them ^^^. I still have dairy products though. Lots of my friends that are vegetarians eat fish but not other meat. Personally, I think it's just a matter of opinion.

Thank you for this post. I try to tell people this all the time. The definition of vegetarian is a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc. So if you eat fish you aren't a vegetarion! You just don't eat meat. It's like I'm straight but I fuck girls if they're redheads (I'm a girl). No, it doesn't work that way.
