+438 The good thing about being a pessimist: you're always either right or pleasantly surprised. amirite?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I think this is a quote. Anyone know who said it?

I remember seeing an episode of Bewitched, LOL this is true, and her aunt Agatha brought back Benjamin Franklin who said that same exact thing. hahahaha

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It most definitely wasn't Benjamin Franklin, and I've never seen Bewitched.

Well this is an optimistic way of looking at it. Ironic, huh? ;D

by Anonymous 14 years ago

*Raises hand.* I'm pessimist. It's true, though. You're right.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Can you be both an otimist and a pessimist? Please! I know I can do it but I doubt anyone will let me.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

you're always right or pleasantly surprised, but you spend your days being miserable all the time expecting the worst. . . .

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I'm not miserable. Just because you expect things to go badly doesn't mean you're automatically sad.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Why do people think pessimists are miserable. I for one get upset when I know something won't work but I have to wait and be bored while the optimist wastes hours on end trying to get it to work and then saying "you're right, it doesn't work".

The world needs black and white resoning. It's simple to call people either a pessimist or an optimist when in reallity we all vary between the two. You could call a Cleveland Brown fan a true optimist waiting for that super bowl to come. ;-) But then they could be a pessimist by not buying season tickets.

This is what i've always thought!!! my mom always gets pissed at me for being a pessimist tho

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow really? The problem with pessimism is that it spreads faster than optimism. The people who don't consider themselves either, but who have only heard the pessimistic side of things tend to stay depressed all of the time.
