Yeah, but aren't flies not evolved very much? Why are they so prevalent? Shouldn't the more evolved ones be more adapted? Don't say poaching, either; I'm sure more flies are killed every year than Rhinos. (I accidentally hit anon instead of post it... Can't change back... Oddment)

it's two different evolutionary strategies, flies evolved to be small, their simple forms develop faster as eggs and so they multiply very quickly and thrive. Rhinos grew to be big and hard to kill, but less of them produced (a downside of being big). Humans now hunt off Rhino's and are not effected by the difficulty to kill, few other animals could, before humans, kill off Rhino's and none at the rate we are so the introduction humans has a strong effect on the rhinos. Flies we kill no faster than the average animal so there is no change for them. Flies grow as fast as we can kill them. Rhino's depended on not being killed often, humans can kill rhinos so there evolutionary traits that were very strong are now useless.

The "cool" animals are usually the ones at the top of a food chain, or they have a very specialized niche (like pandas). They tend to be most affected by changing environments. Flies on the other hand live off of decaying matter, which there is no short supply of.
