+156 Intolerance of religion is dumb, because no one really knows which religion is right. amirite?

They all are close to the same. They all believe in one god but they have different ways to worship him.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Not all of them believe in one god.

the main three do. Judiasm, Islam, and Christianity. Not to insult anyone if I misspelled one.

Exactly, that's what I always say, you never know what's right unless you die, but that doesn't mean commit suicide.

I believe in the bird, because the bird is the word.

Two men are on a plane that is headed to New York. One turns to the other and starts telling him about how excited he is to finally get to visit Las Vegas. Of course, the first man realizes that the second is on the wrong plane and will land in the wrong pace. Would it be intolerant of him to tell the man that he is on the wrong plane? Some say, "Well, what if the first man is wrong, and the plane really is going to Las Vegas, and HE'S on the wrong plane?" Obviously, one of them is wrong and one is right. For people who wish to argue this point, would it be intolerant of the one who's right to tell the one who's wrong that he is indeed on the wrong flight?

All religions are retarded. Don't believe what ppl tell you to; decide for yourself what you personally truly believe is right and wrong and take responsibility for your actions. Spirituality is a personal thing and shouldn't be shared unless someone really wants to know your belief system - at which point they have no right to tell you otherwise or try to convert you. Fighting is pointless and only ends up hurting all parties involved.

I like to tell people about my religion, because it's made me happy, and I also believe it to be true and I want everyone to at least have a chance to experience it. If they tell me to stfu, I will. But you never know if someone is actually searching for something, and maybe I can help them find it. I never fight about it, though. If someone doesn't want it, I'll back off. I just want everyone to have a chance.

I think that's really nice of you :) I rekon that's the right way to do it :D

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Or maybe none of the religions are right...

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Who says any religion is right? I haven't seen any of "God's work" in my life, and I doubt I ever will. It's all pointless garbage, designed for people who are ignorant enough to ignore scientific facts.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Thank you. This really needed to be said!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

The reason you have never seen God's work is because you close your eyes to it. Look at nature. To say that so many things designed as intricately as the human body, a single cell, a flower, is ignorant in itself. Science points towards God's existence, but if you are determined to be blind to all of the evidence, you can't come to believe a point.

seriously, would just go away now?

If you want me to write a report on how the Earth and life came to be for you, I will. God fits no where in the creation of life.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Thats just as intolerant as people spreading thier religion. I kinda think I'm agnostic, but you don't KNOW that there is no god. Maybe there is :) I hope there is anyway... science and religion can both be right, if you look at them :)

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I don't think that anyone can know that there is no god. I choose to believe that there is no god because I see no evidence for his existence. Like Occam, I have applied the razor to the argument and the simplest explanation does not include a god, therefore it is purely a matter of faith. I cannot prove to you that there is no god, just as you cannot prove to me that I do not have a fairy godmother. All I can do is say that there is no evidence for the existence of your god. I may not be able to explain all the things that you can with your god yet, but when/if I do I will have evidence for my beliefs. Until that day I choose to believe only in that which we have evidence for.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Sure... you're completely right. There is no evidence :) on the other hand, i wouldn't say that it's all pointless garbage, designed for people who are ignorant enough to ignore scientific facts. Could be garbage, could be a gormet meal. Who knows?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

You can't force anyone to believe something they don't want to, so don't try.I learned to set a good example to bring people to Christ, not to force them by fighting(which only makes them more defiant).I also "believe in science". God can make science, I doubt it was hard.I have seen the good works God has put in my life, and I also see he is fair.

The problem comes in when people believe their own religion says that it is right and everything else is wrong. (Which is basically all religions...)
