+477 The soda fountains at restaurants try to trick you into getting ice. What we don't realize is the soda is kept cold in the machine, so we don't even need it. Let's revolt against this ice and fill our cups completely, amirite?

Meh; some people like ice. Me, I almost never get it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Everywhere I've worked keeps the syrup at room temp.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's why i never get ice

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly. It really annoys me when a waiter/waitress forgets that I ordered it WITHOUT ice. Ruins the whole meal for me :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The ice is my favorite part.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Me too, cause when the drink is gone i eat it. (: Ice at restaurants always crunches better than at home.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the restaurant I work at keeps the syrup at room redo but the soda/juice still comes out cold

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Temp... Stupid swype texting

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wow i was gunna say i don't see anything about syrup :)

Drinking soda without ice feels unnatural. Howeve I read that fast food ice is dirtier than toilet water... So maybe the ice should be avoided

I hate ice with my coke, the ice melts and the coke tastes weird. Oh, and I have a question. Has one of you been to the self-service soda machine? The one where you press the button on any soda you want and it pours out? Ok. Why does the cola come out as brown-white-brown-white kind of thing? I've noticed it with other drinks, too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because they dilute the cola with water. D:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

WHY?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guess it's so they can save money since they're giving you less soda.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh my god! Those cheaters! I'm buying bottled coke from now on... Thanks for answering. ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good idea! :D Anytime. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sometimes it's actually because the machine is running out of syrup and it just needs to be switched out.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I already do. I hate when the ice melts and all you taste is nasty watered down soda. So gross.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Figured this out a few years ago :3 less trips to refill and it's usually at just the right temp for a soda to be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

duh

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nah, I love eating the ice cubes at the end :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it's the syrup mixing with the carbonated water not diluting it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never understand why people at my work ask for no ice; the drink actually isn't kept cold in our machines.
