+703 Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They're usually portrayed with one, but logically, they wouldn't have had one. I wonder if the first trees had age rings.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

logically they wouldn't?why?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We have belly buttons because that's where the tube was connecting us to the placenta, which attached to the mother's uterus to give us nutrition and whatnot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OOOOOOOOH that's so interesting.Never knew that. Awesome

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@447293 (sestrada16): That "tube" is called an umbilical cord. Ha ha.

(yourmomlikesthis):Response to me or to the person who answered me?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Who does it say the @ to?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sorry brainfart

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm laughing that you didn't know where belly buttons come from . =P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To be frank, I don't think that's common knowledge. Then again common knowledge is dependent on your region

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I had a brain fart. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how could you not know that!!! hahaha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't get it... You say LOGICALLY they wouldn't have belly buttons, but you didn't even know why we have belly buttons?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wonder what the first dog looked like. Probably something average sized like collie sized, but more of a St. Bernard looking thing. That's my guess.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think they'd be huge, like bigger than wolves, since prehistoric animals tend to be gigantic

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh wow what great logic *note sarcasm*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you! By the way, how's Harry doing?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Domestic dogs evolved from wolves.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@447284 (Sestrada16): Let me say this: I do not believe in evolution. We can argue if you like, but I see it as pointless, as we both interpret the same data to fit our needs. However, I do see how they probably would've evolved from wolves. Now "evolved" is not right. Wolves adapted, or humans bred for tranquility. In russia they domesticated foxes. Took twenty years. The same could be done with wolves.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, yeah, you were the person I argued with. Sorry. I wasn't trying to start something. Domesticated dogs are wolves' descendants? Better?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Si senor. But mainly that was to the other person.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uh, no. We bred those traits into dogs over a span of years. They all descended from wolves we domesticated. Therefore, they would have absolutely not traits St. Bernards have. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, thanks for the clarification.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No problem. But it would be cool to see Collie sized St. Bernards. :'D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That it would. They are awesome dogs, but they are so big, if they are the least bit hyper when company is over it gets bad quickly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe if they were smaller, they wouldn't drool as much, too. :D I could never own one just because of the drool. Dx

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think they would probably drool about the same amount. Basset hounds are smaller dogs, and they still drool tons.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? I suppose that makes sense, though, since their jowls hang pretty low now that I think about it. I've never met a Basset Hound, so the excessive drooling comes as a bit of a surprise to me. xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. They bark a lot too. Be thankful that you haven't met one..even though they are cute.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guess it's probably the hound aspect of them that makes them bark a lot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. Makes sense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Logically, they wouldn't, but neither would Athena, and we don't sit around pondering whether or not she had one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

they are portrayed with one but logically they wouldn't have one. just like jesus is portrayed as a tall skinny white guy with long brown hair but logically he would of been more middle eastern short and pudgy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Jesus likely would've been skinny because he was poor. But I get your point.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Do you have a belly button?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anthony posted a post like this ages ago.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is a question, not a statement

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This site is for opinions, not statements...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well opinions tend to be statements. Your opinion can't be "How are you?".

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah true, well either way this post is worded incorrectly :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

:D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. They didn't come from the womb.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When did this post become about dogs?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

agreed

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Name of a book!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, that's illogical.
