You've accidently/purposely stapled your finger before, amirite?

Accidentally/Purposely
As opposed to what?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Accidentally or purposely. OP means at some point in your life you have accidentally or purposely stapled your finger.
by Anonymous12 years ago
This comment is over a year old, for one thing... and I know what OP means. I just meant that there isn't a point in specifying when there's no alternative. :P

This post just recently got homepaged. I don't look at the dates of the individual comments. Therefore, I don't care that the comment is over a year old.
There is an alternative. You can either accidentally or purposely stapled your fingers at some point in your life, or you can have never stapled your fingers. The alternative is understood. It's like saying "You have eaten pizza, amirite?" Either you have or you haven't, even though only one instance is specified.

Well, it's a little irritating to be notified that some random user seems to misunderstand something I said a year ago, but whatever sinks your snorlax.
However, never having stapled your finger isn't the alternative to the accidentally/purposely. If you have stapled your finger, you either did it accidentally or purposely. If you take out the accidentally/purposely in the post, it still has the alternative of never having stapled your finger. Thus, never having stapled your finger is not the alternative to accidentally or purposely, rendering the accidentally/purposely without alternative, and thus, erroneous.

Because we are going to be nitpicky about how someone words a post, and also because someone replies to your comment. You're a cool kid.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I was nitpicky about it a year ago. About 13 1/2 months, to be precise. If I saw it yesterday without somebody being all up on me about an opinion I had last year, I wouldn't have given a shit. I was only being nitpicky in my response because I was explaining something that you didn't seem to understand.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Because it really matters that I replied to a comment that was made a year ago. And I wasn't being "all up on you". I was explaining what OP meant and you decided to get an attitude. Personally, I don't care. And since you are going to continue having an attitude, I am done with this conversation.
by Anonymous12 years ago
It's not me who didn't understand. I get an attitude when people try to correct what was already correct, it's just a bonus that it was correct long before you tried to correct it... And I'm glad you're going to be the "bigger person". ;)

Are you really going to argue with me over the internet? What are you going to do, caps lock me to death?
by Anonymous12 years ago
"I'm going to go be the better person, now shut up and let me get the last word in."
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's cute. Really, it is. I am enthralled with the cuteness of it.

"brb, proving you right."

I accidentally stapled both of my thumbs during class in fourth grade. There was a lot of blood...
