+715 If you have to be on food stamps, then you shouldn't be allowed to waste your money on an iPhone, amirite?

They also shouldn't be allowed to have more kids. And if they do have more kids, their welfare rate stays the same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just sayin'. The kids would suffer then. It's not really their fault if their parent(s) happen to a be lazy fuck.

Then social services should take her kids away. The parents would obviously be irresponsible for having more kids, knowing that they didn't have any money to begin with.

I say that we should not give them cash. We should give them food, clothing, and a small job opportunity. It's obvious that giving them cash is giving some of them too much freedom for their own good.

I think people should have to pass a drug test to get on welfare and food stamps or to collect unemployment etc. I agree with the having kids part too, if you can't support what you already have don't have more. Or the people that 'don't have money for food' yet have the brand new jordans brand new phat pharm clothes whatever... And yeah I know those brands are outdated but you get the point. There's too many people taking advantage of the system when there's so many others that NEED it.

umm im on foodstamps and its a card that you swipe.. its not cash. if its not food it wont work so dont go around and say people shouldnt do that. and then if you have more kids the welfare goes up bcuz its thier policy!!! dumbasses.. yall really should know all the facts before yall state this shit

both my mom and dad are disabled and therefore cannot work, and need foodstamps. Are you saying that they don't deserve to have an iphone if they wanted? They have a f*cking hard enough life without people like you thinking of them as pieces of trash. Think before you judge people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but there are a lot of people abusing this system. if they're gonna use the money for something that's not a necessity then that's taking away from people who actually need it such as your parents.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No one is calling them trash. There are things that if you don't have the money, you can't get. A lot of people deserve things, but don't get them. Nice things are a pivilage not a right.

I agree, but to be fair with foodstamps you can only buy food items. With welfare I believe you can pretty much buy whatever.

FUCK ALL OF YOU. My family is on foodstamps, we don't have a choice, we don't have the fucking resources and can't afford Internet and such. I spent my hard earned money on my iPhone, because I need to email teachers, etc. I'm in the international baccalaureate program, so you all need to shut the fuck up, I have a feeling none of you who voted "yes you are" are on foodstamps, so shut up if you don't know what you're talking about.

I used to work in Starbucks and every week (yes every week, and at least twice) there was a lady who came in and purchased the biggest frappuccino with either food stamps or welfare (either one it doesn't matter). Now instead of buying real food or necessary supplies she was buying Starbucks. Justify that. I'm not knocking people who NEED those things. But I get really frustrated when I work my ass off for stuff as cheap as ramen and there are people out there buying Starbucks and steaks. My ex had a sister on food stamps who only bought stuff like steak and expensive stuff instead of a lot of healthier cheaper alternatives. Sorry for ranting but this struck a nerve.
