+433 Every time we manage to find a cure against a disease, nature will make up a new disease, which is even harder to fight and might take just as many lives, because diseases are nature’s way of keeping the earth from being overpopulated, amirite?

No, it's because the germs and viruses evolve and adapt so the cures no longer work.

No one agrees with you anonymous

[I know that this will sound horrible but...] If we didn't have all of these diseases and viruses going around, getting stronger and killing off a lot of people, then our world would get Waaaaay too over populated.. And that would mean the Economy would be horrible, barley any land that doesn't have a building on it or near it [from people needing homes], etc etc. And yes, Its sad when a close friend or family you know dies from a disease.. I know what it feels like, my uncle died from lung cancer. And I cried for weeks. But it probably was for the best. 1 less person on this world can make a huge difference. So I think that they should stop trying to find a cure for everything at this moment and wasting all of our donated money on coffee and donuts and realize that this is just natures way of telling us that it can't handle so many people on this Earth. And when I say stop, I mean do it step by step. Slowly, 1 Disease at a time, not all at once.

survival of the fittest, basically...

Yea, diseases evolve. Avian flue, swine flu, all mutated forms of 'the flu'. The more vaccines 'we' make the more worse mutations will happen. That's life though. It needs to happen. Mother nature is a smart bitch.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or if that doesn't work, NATURAL DISASTER!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well its true that it keeps the earths population like at good numbers but really, would you want to get cancer and die? or someone in your family get aids and die, just so the worlds population is at good numbers?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Woooooow, mother nature doesn't have a mind of its own....the only reason we have mutated forms of diseases such as the flu is because of us. We keep making cures that only work for a while, then the disease mutates and adapts to the cure so that it can continue to live. Viruses are just like humans, we adapt to our environment so that we can survive. Humans also kill, not just diseases, so are you saying that serial killers can say "oh, I was only trying to keep the population at a decent number". No. If someone dies, its because they were supposed to, and if it was suicide, then its because they are not happy. and yes, it is hard to deal with. I've experienced it, my mum committed suicide and it was hard. And everyone can bitch at me or whatever they want, this is my opinion and I don't care what anyone else thinks :)

I Absolutely agree with you. My uncle died of Lung Cancer.. I cried for weeks. But it was for the best. :o

my brother commited suicide because of bullying. i don't think that is right. he was a very happy person, but one day it became too much damage to his self esteem and we know it was a spur of the moment thing because of bullying earlier that day.

i dont say diseases like cancer is mother natures way to keep earth from having too many human beings, thats why people arent able to live forever. in my opinion old age takes care of population problems. because it doesnt matter if a person dies at 5 or 55 from cancer they should b able to live a very LONG life but just long enough so we shouldnt give up trying to find a cure for cancer

@amybeany: what are you talking about mother nature and diseases evolving is the same thing. Its what's natural. Someting evolves to adapt to its enviroment. Aka a disease mutating, its evolving to survive the vaccines. That is mother nature.

Thomas Robert Malthus describes these theories in "An Essay on the Principle of Population"

I hella agree. 'Mother nature' is what's natural. So yes, when things evolve and adapt to survive, that's mother nature. That's not saying its a person with a mind of its own just the fact of life. Survival of the fittest.
