Students in AP classes shouldn't have summer homework. Summer homework should be for the stupid kids, amirite?

YES. I had to do 6 fucking chapters this summer for AP World. When I got to my class the teacher was like, "the test isn't on wednesday anymore, it's on friday". Wow, look who's procrastinating now, amirite?

I have 4 ap class this year, that's a mofo 10 section of calc (250problems), 5 chapter of chem (200 pages), 2 ap english books + three 5 pages essays annotated, and a book of french grammar.

Heh, I remember my AP Euro teacher didn't give us any summer homework. His philosophy was that taking an AP is voluntarily so he shouldn't have to bust our ass and give us summer work just to scare some kids outta the class. It was awesome, I just wish my other AP's felt the same way :(

I love this so much I can't even function right now. At my school, teachers are required to give summer work in AP classes. So, for my stats class, since we really can't do any math work to prepare for it, we were assigned to read "How to Lie With Statistics" and we're getting a test on it first day of school. What is the point of that?

I never had summer work for any AP classes...but that probably would have been better than taking the class in one semester instead of two and not getting the boo until two weeks into the course.

My AP History teacher doesn't give summer homework, 'cause she won't grade it, but my AP English teacher and my Trig teacher do. In the meantime, music > Huck Finn...

I don't think the poster meant that people who aren't in APs are stupid, just that summer hw should only be for the people who need it.
