+178 Did you know there's a gentlemens club down the block from ground zero? How is that any less disrespectful from a mosque being down the street from ground zero, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Seriously. Thank you for having the courage to post this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Last I heard it didn't rain silicon from a stripper attack.....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm actually pretty neutral about the whole thing. I don't think the Islam religion should be punished for the devastating thing that some of their followers did, not the whole Islam religion flew a plane into the twin towers. I think they should take American citizens feelings into consideration and build it farther away. Having a whore house that close to ground zero seems pretty disrespectful to me though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm pretty sure the mosque is being built ON ground zero, not down the street.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its actually being built 600 feet away. At least that's what I read.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Mmkay. I actually haven't read up a whole lot on it. All I've heard of it is from my family, and a lot of them keep up on the news.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There's no good reason in the whole fucking world to try to prevent the mosque being built. If anyone has one, I'd love to know.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

could've been... a coat factory?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The whole situation is ridiculous, because the mosque was already there. They just wanted to add on to it. People are being dumb. If it was a synagogue, no one would care. They aren't being fair.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have yet to hear of this radical sect of strippers that bombs economic centers of the world and kills thousands of people because their belief system as they interpret it demands them to commit such crimes.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Radicals are radicals for a reason. And if you are indeed Muslim, you can NOT be radical. Those that bombed the towers are no longer considered Muslim by actual Muslims. And why punish a whole group of people for what only a fraction of the people did? That's like treating all people named Charles like shit because that one Charles Manson guy killed buttloads of people.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I agree with you for the most part. Except Charles Manson didn't kill anyone, he brainwashed his followers into killing them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Dang. I was trying to make a point and screwed it up. Everyone else: ^^^Insert "indirectly" into previous comment.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Flame war inbound.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's like saying that they shouldn't have a catholic church next to the place where the Norwegians got attacked.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because strippers didn't cause 9/11. Building a mosque next to ground zero where muslim terrorists attacked and killed thousands, is just ridiculous.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If one Christian man robbed a Walmart, should we not let any Christians into Walmart? The entire religion of Islam did NOT kill anybody. A few people acting on their own crazy beliefs did.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Building a mosque in America is fine. We're still letting them practice their religion, and live their live just as they wish. They can build a new one anywhere in New York that they like, but right next to ground zero? I think it's a little disrespectful.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ok, so it's "a little disrespectful" when someone who has absolutely no connection to the bombings tries to build a community center blocks away just because there's a mosque as part of it? It's completely ridiculous to say Muslims in the neighborhood should have to go somewhere else to pray and have their state of the art recreation center. There's even supposed to be a 9/11 memorial in the plan for it. There just isn't a fair reason to not allow it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Whatever. You're not gonna change my opinion on the matter. I think it's wrong.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Robbing a walmart is completely different than killing thousands of people

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Which Muslim in lower Manhattan killed thousands of people?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

More than one muslim was responsible for 9/11

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Of course, but the people of lower Manhattan had nothing to do with 9/11.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I wanted to use a smaller-scale thing as an example. It's like... A scale model of the situation.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But with almost the same level of consequence. Doing something small and banning a whole religion from doing something ordinary is different than doing something that goes down in history and affects thousands of people in a negative way and banning something that is easily avoidable.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is by far the least serious comment on this post, but I'd like to say that when people call it a "gentlemen's club" I picture hoity toity men in dapper suits, top hats, mustaches, and monocles drinking tea. wary

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1) perhaps it has been there from before 9/11. 2) maybe it's funded by the extremist islamists in the middle east who also fund terrorist groups. I am just pointing out possible reasons for the mosque being offensive. Not being an American, I really don't know much about it and do not actually have am opinion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

why would reason 1 make it offensive? it was already there, it was just a building, and then they wanted to expand to a recreational center as well as a mosque - at least that's what I heard :/

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have nothing against Muslims, and I in no way am blaming the whole religon for what happened. I believe the Mosque shouldn't be built out of respect for the people killed in 9/11 .

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Look, I understand that it was not Islam as a whole that was the cause of 9/11. I understand that it is only the extremists, a very very small minority who partakes in these terrorist actions. However, they should know better than to construct this mosque by ground zero because there's a lot of rednecks and politically incorrect people in America who will, and already are, be pissed off at this. All the uproar over it, the islam leaders of the mosque shoulda seen it coming.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yeah I don't think there's really that much wrong with it, I just think theyre being terribly naive. they should be allowed to build it there, but it's not the best decision on their part to do so...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You guys waste your time. If you look at all the evidence and videos, and records. You'll see it was a terrosist attack to us by us. Those were military planes. There was no plane that hit the pentagon. If you look outside what the media portrayed you can see the truth. Watch "in plane sight" and "loose change" there are several documentaries that show the truth. America is like that younger sibling that falls and blames the other siblings for sympathy and "revenge"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I find that extremely hard to believe. Please tell me you're trolling.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're right! IT'S ALL A CONSPIRACY! THE GOVERNMENT HAS CHIPS IN OUR BRAINS!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I watched one about the pentagon. That one got me thinking. But I doubt america would do that.
