-342 The best thing about owning a book is that you can lend it to other people, amirite?

Man. I once lent this girl my copy of Twilight and she never gave it back. I never pressed the issue, 'cause that'd seem jerky. The same girl also lost my American Government book, but this one guy found it for me in her Spanish class. |:

library or go to a book store

That's what I'm saying. Sure, that's fine if you just want to read it yourself. But if it's a book you really like and you own it, you have the pleasure of not only recommending it, but lending it to, other people.

I'm surprised this post has so many No way votes. tsk tsk on all you non-sharing people :)

I'd love to share them...but I never get them back in one piece. I like my books without bent spines or pages, call me picky.

the best reason is that u own the book... pretty obvious

"He who lends a book is an idiot. He who returns it is an even bigger idiot."

Just because something's a quote doesn't mean it's true.

I agree with you, BUT only when my book is returned. I am very attached to my books.

No... the best part of owning a book is that you can read it again. And again. And, come to think of it, again. Whenever you feel like it.

I don't like lending out books 'specifically if they're expensive ones as well. I let my friend Amber borrow my Death Note manga and she returned it with the cover all bent and shit. She ruined that thing so I ended up just buying another fucking copy and giving her that copy for Christmas.
